An Unexpected Giveaway The Hobbit Deluxe Slipcase Edition Illustrated by Alan Lee

No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win. A purchase will never give you more entries or better odds than are available for free. Void where prohibited.

1. Sponsor. This giveaway (the "Giveaway") is sponsored by Middleborne Arms, an independent shop at middlebornearms.com ("Sponsor"). Sponsor can be reached at middlebornearms@proton.me with any questions about the Giveaway.
2. Eligibility. Open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where they live, if higher) at the time of entry. Employees of Sponsor, their immediate family members (spouse, parents, siblings, children) and people living in their household are not eligible. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
3. Entry Period. The Giveaway begins October 20, 2026 at 12:00 AM Central Time and ends October 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM Central Time (the "Entry Period"). Entries received outside the Entry Period will not be counted. Sponsor's computer is the official timekeeper.
4. How to Enter. There are two kinds of entries:
   • Free Entry (no purchase necessary): Complete and submit the entry form at middlebornearmsgiveaway.netlify.app with your full name and a valid email address, and agree to these Official Rules, for one (1) entry. Limit one (1) free entry per person and per email address.
   • Bonus Entries (limit six (6) per person in total): You may earn bonus entries in these ways:
     1. Free, one (1) bonus entry for each of these actions, each counted once per person: (1) follow @middleborne_arms on Instagram; (2) follow the Middleborne Arms page on Facebook; (3) subscribe to @themiddleborne on YouTube; (4) follow @middlebornearms on X; (5) follow @themiddleborne on X; (6) share the Giveaway post once on any platform. Tick each completed action on the entry form and provide your handle (and a link to your share), so Sponsor may verify it. Actions that can't be verified, or that are undone before the drawing, may not be counted.
     2. Free alternative, no social media needed: email middlebornearms@proton.me during the Entry Period from the email address used on your entry form, with the subject "Bonus Entries" and your full name, to receive six (6) bonus entries. This option is limited to one email per person. It gives the same number of bonus entries as completing all six actions.
     3. Orders: each order placed at middlebornearms.com during the Entry Period earns one (1) bonus entry, credited to the order's email address and matched to an entry form with that email if one exists. If no entry form was submitted, that person's order-based bonus entries still count (up to the cap), but no free form entry is added for them.
All bonus entries share one cap. Each person's bonus entries equal the total from follows, shares, and orders, or six (6) if they sent the "Bonus Entries" email. That total never exceeds six (6).
Maximum: seven (7) total entries per person (one free entry plus up to six bonus entries), whether or not they make a purchase. Purchasing never gives anyone more entries than are available for free, and free and purchase-based entries have equal standing and the same chance of winning. Entries made by script, bot, or multiple/fake identities, or any attempt to get more than the allowed number of entries, will be disqualified. Proof of sending or submitting an entry is not proof that it was received.
5. Prizes. Three (3) prizes will be awarded:
   • Grand Prize (1): one (1) copy of The Hobbit deluxe slipcase special edition, illustrated by Alan Lee, brand new and unopened in its original shrink wrap. Approximate retail value (ARV): $195.00 USD.
   • Second Prize (1): one (1) handmade, laser-engraved walnut "The Lonely Mountain" bookmark made by Middleborne Arms. ARV: $15.00 USD.
   • Third Prize (1): one (1) handmade, laser-engraved walnut "In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit" (Bag End) bookmark made by Middleborne Arms. ARV: $15.00 USD.
Total ARV of all prizes: $225.00 USD. Because the bookmarks are handmade, the wood grain and engraving may vary slightly from the photos. Prizes ship free to each winner's address in the eligible area. Limit one (1) prize per person. No cash or other substitution, assignment, or transfer except by Sponsor, which may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if a listed prize is unavailable.
6. Odds. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Entry Period.
7. Winner Selection. On or about November 2, 2026, Sponsor will draw three (3) potential winners in order, at random, from all eligible entries. The first entry drawn wins the Grand Prize, the second wins the Second Prize, and the third wins the Third Prize. Limit one (1) prize per person: if an entry belongs to someone already drawn (for example, their second entry), it is set aside and another entry is drawn. Sponsor's decisions are final.
8. Winner Notification. Each potential winner will be notified by email within forty-eight (48) hours of the drawing. Each potential winner must reply within seventy-two (72) hours of notification and may be asked to confirm eligibility and provide a shipping address. If the potential winner does not respond in time, cannot be reached, is found ineligible, or does not comply with these rules, that prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner for that prize may be selected at random from the remaining eligible entries (excluding people who have already won).
9. Taxes. Any federal, state, and local taxes on a prize are the sole responsibility of the winner who receives it.
10. General Conditions. By entering, entrants agree to these Official Rules and to Sponsor's decisions, which are final. Sponsor may disqualify anyone who tampers with the entry process or violates these rules. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected entries, or for technical failures of any kind. If the Giveaway cannot run as planned because of fraud, technical problems, or any cause beyond Sponsor's control, Sponsor may cancel, modify, or suspend it and award the prizes by random drawing from eligible entries received before the event. By accepting a prize, each winner releases Sponsor from any liability arising from participation or from the prize, and, except where prohibited, agrees that Sponsor may use the winner's first name, last initial, and state for announcing the winner, without further payment.
11. Privacy. Information you submit is used to run the Giveaway: to count entries, verify bonus entries, and contact the winners. It will not be sold or shared, except with the form service that stores entries. You will only be added to Sponsor's newsletter if you tick the optional newsletter box (left unchecked by default), and you can unsubscribe at any time. Entry data is processed by our form provider Netlify (Netlify Forms).
12. Platform Release. This Giveaway is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram, Facebook, Meta, YouTube, Google, X, or X Corp. By entering, entrants release these platforms from all liability. Questions or comments about the Giveaway should go to Sponsor, not to any platform.
13. Winner List. For the winners' names (first name, last initial, and state), send an email to middlebornearms@proton.me with the subject "Hobbit Giveaway Winners" by December 31, 2026.
14. Governing Law. These rules are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
